Judging Panel

An independent panel of recognised and expert judges, representing Ireland's HR industry, will determine the winners of the HR Leadership & Management Awards.

Our focus is to deliver a balanced judging assessment from industry leaders who will bring their extensive knowledge, enthusiasm and expertise to the judging process ensuring that the winning entries are truly outstanding and worthy of receiving a HR Award.

The panel is carefully selected to ensure the Awards judging process is fair and objective. The judges are bound by a strict confidentiality agreement and are required to declare any conflict of interest in entries over which they deliberate, in which case that entry will be reallocated. The integrity of this process lies at the very heart of all that we do.

We recognise and respect the sensitive nature of the information submitted in the entries. Submissions are not disclosed or discussed outside the judging process. We do not publish the names of companies, organisations or individuals that have not been shortlisted for an Award, nor will we reproduce any information from your entry unless prior permission is given.

Brenda Dooley - Shannon Consulting

 

Brenda Dooley is a highly experienced HR consultant and executive coach, with a strong senior corporate HR background.  She has a reputation for delivery and has built an extensive client base across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.

Rosarii Mannion - National Director Human Resources, Health Service Executive

 

Rosarii Mannion is a senior experienced HR Director currently working as National HR Director in Irelands largest employer the Health Service Executive.

Shirley Comerford - CEO, Public Appointments Service

 

Shirley Comerford is an experienced senior HR executive working effectively in both operational and strategic roles across a range of sectors.  In addition to her career here in Ireland, she spent a number of years working the U.K. and Australia in the Education and Healthcare sectors. 

Breda O’Toole - Head of Product Development & Transformation, IDA Ireland

 

A native of Connemara, Breda joined IDA Ireland 12 years ago after spending much of her career in the UK.  She has worked as IDA’s Head of HR, Regional Business Development and most recently heads up a team supporting the growth of 250 small to medium sized multinational companies in the IDA portfolio.

Hugh O'Brien - Head of Human Resources, Applegreen Ireland

 

Hugh O’Brien is an experienced HR professional, having worked with Danone, Rabobank, Virgin TV, eir.

Brenton Ward - Pensions Consultant, Mount Street Group, COO & Co-Founder, WIZE Mentoring

 

Brenton is a Pensions Consultant with Dublin based Advisory Firm, Mount Street Group, dedicated to helping Irish companies and their staff develop and manage their pension schemes.

Dr. Caitriona Hughes - Lecturer in HRM & Programme Director Masters in HRM, National College of Ireland

 

Dr Caitriona Hughes has a wide range of experience in the area of Human Resource Management and has previously worked in HR roles in a number of industries including senior level positions in HR.

Professor Edel Conway – Professor in HRM & Organisational Psychology, DCU Business School

 

Professor Edel Conway (Dublin City University) is Professor in HRM and Organisational Psychology at DCU Business School.  Edel is an organisational psychologist with expertise in employee engagement, well-being and organisational change.

Paul Aherne - Principal Consultant, ASCEND

 

Paul is a Human Resources & Performance Consultant who is passionate about supporting organisations & business leaders to reach their highest potential performance.

Mary Patterson - Operations Director, Momentum Support

 

Utilising her extensive experience at senior management level across a variety of industry sectors, Mary engages on a daily basis with her HR function in her Operations role in this Labour intensive business. 

Claire O’Reilly - Head of the HR Strategy Unit, Department of Public Expenditure and Reform

 

Claire is an accomplished HR Leader with extensive experience of developing and leading teams of HR professionals within the Private and Public Sector.

Alan Jordan - Partner, The Business Troubleshooters

 

Alan is a Partner in The Business Troubleshooters and is highly qualified in everything HR. He has managed both large and small teams through some challenging times with some of Ireland’s leading brands - Revlon, Roche Products, Bewleys, Allegro, Allied Foods, Shires, Aer Lingus, Irish Ferries, Brinks Allied through a variety of quality and business improvement programmes.

Kenneth D. Glynn - Senior Director for Europe, Beacon HRM Group

 

With over 20 years in the field, including ten years with the Beacon HRM Group, Ken is a vastly experienced designer and facilitator of innovative and impactful learning, development, and consultancy experiences.
