This award recognises HR teams within the manufacturing sector that have delivered outstanding workforce development and operational performance over the past 12 months. The judges will want to see a comprehensive approach to HR across areas such as workforce planning, recruitment and retention, employee engagement, wellbeing, safety culture, and skills development. Entrants should demonstrate how HR initiatives have strengthened workforce capability, supported productivity, and contributed to operational efficiency within complex and often safety-critical manufacturing environments. Entry is by a 5-page A4 PDF submission; the judges will be looking for clear information backed up by facts that pays particular attention to the criteria listed below.

Outline the role of the HR function and its overall people strategy, including key workforce challenges such as skills shortages, shift work, safety requirements, or operational demands.

This may include improvements in retention rates, employee engagement, workforce productivity, safety performance, or operational efficiency.
