UKG launches People Assist AI agent into Google Cloud Gemini Enterprise to streamline HR service delivery

US HR technology platform UKG has launched into Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise Agent Gallery, integrating its agentic Workforce Operating Platform directly into the Gemini Enterprise conversational interface to enable real-time HR service delivery without requiring employees to navigate separate systems. The development carries direct implications for HR professionals and people managers overseeing workforce operations, onboarding, and employee self-service at scale.

HR Tech Series reported that the first agent available through both the Gemini Enterprise Agent Gallery and Google Cloud Marketplace is the UKG People Assist agent, which serves as the entry point for employee access to workplace knowledge and requests. General availability is expected in July 2026, with additional UKG agents planned for future release.

The integration allows organisations using Gemini Enterprise to streamline critical workforce processes conversationally. In a practical example, a hiring manager can initiate a new hire onboarding request within Gemini Enterprise, with the UKG People Assist agent automatically launching the onboarding workflow, creating the employee record, and triggering HR, payroll, and policy-driven processes while simultaneously coordinating with systems such as ServiceNow to provision equipment and access.

Corey Spencer, general manager and group vice president of artificial intelligence at UKG, said: "Employees shouldn't have to navigate systems to get work done. With UKG People Assist inside the Gemini Enterprise ecosystem, they can simply express what they need conversationally in a system they already work in, and UKG takes care of the rest."

Satish Thomas, vice president at Google Cloud, said the UKG People Assist agent demonstrates how AI can move beyond insight to drive execution, enabling organisations to streamline workforce processes and complete critical real-time tasks across different systems.
