Learnovate Centre expands EdTech and HRTech masterclass series to Irish regions as startup support grows

The Learnovate Centre at Trinity College Dublin is extending its EdTech Masterclass Series beyond Dublin to regional locations, following two successful sessions that drew 56 Irish EdTech and HRTech companies seeking practical guidance on scaling, innovation, and global market entry. The initiative carries direct relevance for HR and learning and development professionals tracking how Irish technology startups are building capability in talent development and workplace learning tools.

Irish Tech News reported that the masterclass series, delivered in partnership with Enterprise Ireland, launched with two sessions at the Trinity Innovation Hub in March and April, covering growth strategy, AI adoption, emerging technology, and research and development collaboration. Regional sessions are now planned for Athlone in September and November 2026.

The first session focused on identifying market opportunities, assessing organisational readiness for growth, and developing innovation strategies. The second addressed solution validation, AI integration, and funding pathways, with participants engaging in ideation sprints and structured reflection exercises.

Dave Farrelly, head of membership services at Learnovate, said: "Irish EdTech companies are operating in an increasingly competitive global market where the ability to innovate quickly is the difference between success and failure." Farrelly added that the masterclass series helps organisations step back, assess where they are, and take effective steps to scale and innovate.

Donnchadh Cullinan, head of enterprise solutions at Enterprise Ireland, said the series has offered a constructive environment for founders and practitioners to explore how AI and emerging technologies are influencing innovation in learning and talent development, welcoming plans for regional pilots.

Guest speakers included Elliott Masie, founder of the Masie Learning Foundation and widely credited with coining the term "e-learning," who provided guidance on how organisations use technology to improve learning and knowledge sharing.
