Citycare Property consolidates HR and payroll systems with Boomi-powered integration to streamline workforce management

New Zealand social infrastructure organisation Citycare Property has partnered with technology consultancy Adaptiv to overhaul its HR and employee management processes, deploying the Boomi Enterprise Platform to unify its HR, payroll, and IT systems under a single integration layer. The project carries direct relevance for HR and people management professionals evaluating enterprise integration solutions to reduce onboarding friction and improve workforce data quality.

Reseller News reported that the previous set-up was described by Citycare CIO Adam Doocey as slow and complicated, with new hire onboarding consuming days of manual work and limited visibility into where candidates were in the process. The Adaptiv team prioritised understanding Citycare's operational needs before configuring the technology solution.

Adaptiv deployed Boomi's Data Hub and Integration capabilities to create a unified view of every employee across all platforms, introducing a consistent framework for workforce status changes and enabling automatic updates across HR, payroll, and IT systems without disrupting day-to-day operations.

Doocey said: "Boomi has given us a degree of visibility that we have never had before. We have seen an improvement in the time it takes to get an employee from registering in our HR system to being active across all of our systems." He added that data quality in downstream systems had improved significantly, with Boomi eliminating a previous practice of staff manually adjusting data to work around system issues.

Adaptiv principal consultant Philip Durrant said the Boomi platform was selected because it enabled the employee to be placed at the centre of the integration, with the architecture designed to allow additional systems to be connected in future with minimal rework.

Boomi APJ CTO David Irecki noted that the project demonstrated how an employee-centred integration strategy delivers measurable results across the whole organisation.
