Bluworks secures funding to scale HR solutions across Egypt and MENA

Egyptian HR-tech startup bluworks has raised US$1 million (€860,000) in seed funding to accelerate growth across Egypt and expand into the wider MENA region.

Founded in 2022 by Hussein Wahdan and Farah Osman, the company specialises in workforce management solutions for blue-collar employees, including scheduling, attendance tracking, payroll processing, real-time salary disbursement, and regulatory compliance.

The latest funding round was led by A15, Enza Capital, and Beltone Venture Capital, with strategic support from Acasia Ventures and angel investors. Previously, bluworks raised US$1 million (€860,000) in pre-seed funding in April 2024.

“This investment marks a pivotal step for bluworks,” said Hussein Wahdan, CEO. “We’ve proven the strength of our model in Egypt, and now we’re ready to scale faster – both by deepening our presence locally and by exploring regional opportunities.”

The funding will focus on three strategic objectives: expanding the SME client base and platform capabilities, forging partnerships for additional services, and pursuing geographic expansion across the MENA region.

Bassem Raafat, principal at A15, noted that bluworks is transforming a traditionally manual blue-collar workforce segment with a high-engagement platform that streamlines shift management, attendance, payroll, and more, creating a digital backbone for this underserved market. Abdelrahman Hassan of Enza Capital added that bluworks is driving financial inclusion and improving workforce management across Africa.

The company’s growth trajectory highlights the rising importance of HR technology in managing large frontline workforces efficiently. Its platform addresses operational inefficiencies, reduces reliance on outdated systems, and empowers companies to optimise employee management in real time.
