Alastair McMenamin has been named HR Leader of the Year at the HR Leadership & Management Awards 2025, held on 16 October at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry.
The award recognises his outstanding contribution to the advancement of human resources, leadership development, and organisational excellence over a distinguished 25-year career.
McMenamin began his career with the Bank of Ireland before taking on leadership roles at Aviva Ireland and later Zurich Insurance Group, where he oversaw HR operations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
His work has been defined by a consistent commitment to building high-performing teams, cultivating inclusive cultures, and aligning people strategy with long-term business success.
Now with Spencer Stuart, McMenamin continues to advise global leaders on succession planning, talent strategy, and leadership effectiveness. His influence extends far beyond corporate walls, shaping how organisations identify, nurture, and empower their next generation of leaders.
Judges praised McMenamin for his ability to “blend strategic vision with genuine empathy and insight,” noting that his leadership has left a lasting imprint on both people and organisations.
