Workday strengthens HR leadership with new AI centre in Dublin
Workday is expanding its HR technology and AI operations in Dublin with a €175m investment over three years, creating 200 new positions. The AI Centre of Excellence will focus on AI-driven HR solutions, workforce upskilling, leadership support, and collaboration with tech partners.
The Dublin hub, based in College Square, will enhance product development in HR and payroll software while supporting academic fellowships and partnerships with local tech scale-ups. It will also serve as a centre for leadership development and AI adoption across HR teams.
Graham Abell, Workday’s Vice President and Ireland Site Lead, noted Dublin’s pivotal role in the company’s innovation strategy. “This investment powers our next chapter, enabling HR leaders and teams to harness AI to optimise workforce management and operational efficiency,” he said.
Michael Lohan, CEO of IDA Ireland, highlighted the significance for HR transformation. “Expanding Workday’s AI footprint strengthens Ireland’s position in technology innovation while giving HR leaders the tools to modernise talent management,” he commented.
Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke added that Workday’s evolution from acquiring Irish tech firm Cape Clear in 2008 positions the company as a hub for HR technology and leadership development. “This initiative leverages local talent and innovation to advance next-generation HR solutions,” he said.
The centre aims to upskill HR professionals, improve workforce planning, and support leadership decision-making through AI-enhanced tools, reinforcing Ireland as a strategic location for cutting-edge HR technology.
