Austrian-headquartered packaging manufacturer Greiner Packaging has launched a comprehensive employee wellbeing programme at its Dungannon site in Northern Ireland, developed in partnership with specialist wellbeing consultancy Incorporate Benefits, in a move that positions structured health and mental health support as a core element of its people and retention strategy.

Business Eye reported that the programme brings together initiatives focused on mental health awareness, physical wellbeing, early intervention, and open communication, and has been specifically designed to support colleagues working at all levels and across all shift patterns at the Dungannon facility.

The programme includes confidential mental health support, a focus on health and preventative care, and campaigns to encourage openness across the workforce. It has been designed to be visible, accessible, and practical for day-to-day operations on a manufacturing site.

Paul Millar, general manager of Greiner Packaging, said the demands of the manufacturing environment made structured support a business priority. He said: "Manufacturing is a fast-paced working environment and it's vital we provide the right support to help our people thrive both inside and outside of work. Our wellbeing strategy with Incorporate Benefits is a clear commitment to listening, supporting and investing in our people. By supporting our people, we strengthen our business and build a positive forward-thinking culture."

Kyla McCracken, people and culture lead at Greiner Packaging, said the programme is embedded within the company's wider attraction and retention strategy. She said: "This forms part of our wider people strategy of attraction and retention and has been designed to evolve with our workforce to create lasting change. We are delighted with the programme designed in partnership with Incorporate Benefits in that it is visible, accessible and practical for our day-to-day operations on site."

McCracken was clear that the initiative is intended as a long-term commitment rather than a one-off intervention. She said: "This isn't a one-off initiative but something we are committed to and place real value on. The programme includes confidential mental health support, focus on health and preventative care, and campaigns to encourage openness."
