Google launches Gemini Enterprise to reshape workplace AI strategy

Google has unveiled Gemini Enterprise, a new AI platform aimed at transforming enterprise operations by embedding artificial intelligence across workflows and business applications. The company describes it as the “new front door for AI in the workplace,” merging search, automation, and collaboration tools in a single conversational interface.

The platform allows employees to interact with documents, systems, and applications such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Salesforce, and SAP through natural language prompts. It also offers pre-built AI agents and no-code tools for staff to create their own, supporting automation across tasks and departments.

Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said the goal is to make entire workflows smarter by connecting information from emails, chats, and enterprise databases, while streamlining how teams work. Early adopters include Macquarie Group, Virgin Voyages, Gordon Food Service, and banco BV, each reporting improvements in efficiency and access to business insights.

The launch intensifies competition in the enterprise AI space, with Google taking on Microsoft’s Copilot, OpenAI’s Job Platform, and Anthropic’s Claude, which recently partnered with Deloitte to deploy AI tools to more than 470,000 employees. In addition, Google announced an expanded partnership with UKG, aimed at developing AI-driven applications to enhance workforce management and employee experience.

By combining its enterprise reach with an ecosystem of 100,000 partners, Google is positioning Gemini Enterprise as a unifying layer for HR, productivity, and data intelligence.
